Getting the Most “Bang for Your Buck”
For travelers looking to get the highest rated room for the least amount of money, hotels.com has identified the top ten cities in the world where a five-star hotel will cost the least and travelers will get the most value. Travelers looking to visit Warsaw, Poland, Marrakech, Morocco and Budapest, Hungary can find the best deals, with 5-star properties in these cities selling at an average daily rate of less than $200.
While rates are still fairly inexpensive in these cities, prices increased significantly between 2010 and 2011. Of the top ten best 5-star room rates, only prices in Helsinki, Finland dropped year-over-year. The cost of a 5-star room in Marrakech, which recently received a lot of attention on the popular television series, “The Real Housewives of New York City,” jumped 35%. Despite the year-over-year increase, with 5-star room rates averaging $192 per night, it’s clear you don’t need to be a celebrity to live the high life in Marrakech.
